Benjamin Segien Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 15, 2025.
Benjamin Joseph Segien, 81, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in Revere, Massachusetts. Born on September 16, 1943, in Waltham, Massachusetts, Benjamin lived a life marked by dedication to his family, hard work, and the simple joys of companionship and travel.

Benjamin built a long and steady career as a machinist at General Electric in Lynn, Massachusetts. Over the course of 30 years, he exemplified commitment and craftsmanship in his work before retiring to enjoy the fruits of his labor. His retirement years were spent embracing warm weather and relaxation in Palm Coast, Florida-a well-earned chapter filled with day trips and cherished time with loved ones. His hobbies included fishing, wood working & gardening.

He was a devoted husband to Elaine Segien and a proud father to Paul Segien and Michael Segien. He held close the memory of his daughter Denise Segien. Known affectionately as "Papa" by his grandchildren Lauren Russell & husband Mike Russell and Sean Simpson & wife Haley, and great-grandson Jayden Dezza and great-granddaughter Avary Russell, Benjamin found immense joy in their company.

Benjamin was the son of August Joseph Segien and Vera May Segien (Henderson), both of whom preceded him in death. He was brother to Vera Rapuano & the late Joseph, Arthur, and August Segien.

A man who valued connection and laughter, Benjamin enjoyed traveling with Elaine and spending quality time with family. Whether it was a spontaneous day trip or visiting his grand and great grand children, he treasured these moments most. His warmth extended beyond family-he cared for his friends and always appreciated a good laugh shared among them. Although retired to Florida, he would return regularly to Massachusetts and enjoy New England travel.

Services will be held at a later date in his previous hometown of Palm Coast, Florida.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire love and resilience across generations.
