Benjamin Shelton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 4 to Mar. 5, 2009.
Benjamin Paul SHELTON Nov. 12, 1974 ~ Feb. 25, 2009 Our loving Ben passed away unexpectedly at the age of 34. His untimely death leaves a void that will be forever present in our lives. He is survived by his wife Jenny Michelle, daughter Emma (5 mos.), his sons Christien (7) and Mason (4) from a previous marriage, and step-children Ryan Brown (11) and Alyson Brown (5). His is also survived by his loving parents Mary Shelton, Geoff Shelton, and step-dad Lance Grimsby; his sister Jennifer (Richard Mann, III), and his step-brothers Travis (Cyndi) and Parker (Alexis); his grandparents Pastor Maynard and Viola Kragthorpe; his aunt Kari Binns, uncle Jack Binns, cousin Sally, and numerous other family members. Besides the family that loved him, Ben's greatest passions included anything that had to do with baseball, and family BBQ's in his backyard. He shared this passion with his son, Christien, who also caught his baseball fever. Ben was a member of the Ballard High varsity baseball team that won the Metro Championship in 1994. Ben worked for 15 years as a journeyman machinist at Belshaw Bros. Inc. and was a proud member of the IAM. His presence will be sorely missed by all of his co-workers. May God look over him and welcome him into the embrace of His arms. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Children's Hospital or Union Gospel Mission. A memorial service and celebration of Ben's life will be held on Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Glendale Lutheran Church in Burien. Sign the online guestbook at www.Legacy.com.
