Funeral services for Betty Lucille Dean, age 96 of Jefferson, TX., will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Capt. Wm Perry Chapel Haggard Funeral Home with Rev. Virginia Pevey officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A Private family interment will follow at Dean Cemetery in Marion County, Texas. A time of Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Haggard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dean was born on June 11, 1928, in Shreveport, LA., to Howard Forrest Bailey and Ruby Wisconsin Evans Bailey and passed away January 3, 2025 in Longview, Texas.

She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints "Community of Christ".

Mrs. Dean enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roland "Bill" Hartful Dean; son, George Forrest Dean; and granddaughter, Laura Michelle Dean.

Survivors include her children; Donald Gary Dean & wife Tina of Central Point, OR., Betty Jean Dean Patterson of Greenwood, LA., Barbra Ann Dean Bellar & husband David of Blanchard, LA., two sisters; Mary Pollard of Florida, and Lillian Dixon of West Lake, LA., & eight grandchildren: Bradley, Jason, Roland, Mark, Jennifer, Lindsey, Travis, and Ryan. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Travis Dean, Ryan Dean, Mark Patterson, Jason Patterson, Roland Patterson, and Zachary Patterson.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shiners Hospital for Children https://donate.lovetotherescue.org or Wounded Warrior Project https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
