In 1992, he and his wife moved to Schererville, IN and joined First Baptist Church. In addition to his call to preach, he had a tremendous singing voice and a joyous spirit. He traveled across America preaching and singing. He became a dear friend to many preachers. Many words could be used to describe the life of Dr. Bill Burr. He was a faithful husband, loving father, fun-loving "papa", caring brother and dear friend to so many. His life was dedicated to serving his Lord as he preached and sang for over 45 years. I enjoyed Bro. Bill Burr's singing at many Sword of the Lord Conferences back in the day. A tremendous man of God who loved his Lord. He's singing in Glory now!

Patsy & family,
We are sorry to learn of Bro. Bill's passing but are grateful for his life and dedication to our Lord's work. We have many precious memories of him from our days at Temple and the meeting in Beckley. We appreciate your friendship through all these years and pray God will give the grace needed during these days. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Patsy and family..I was so sorry to hear of billy's passing. I should have done a better job of keeping up with him. I would often drop in on my mom in her last days and she would be on the phone with billy, with him praying with her. The last time I spoke with billy, he was singing to my mom on the phone. He had a special relationship with mom, and was a special blessing as we prepared to let her go. I know that billy won't see many strangers in heaven. Please accept my sincere condolences. You all knew him as husband, dad, Dr Billy the evangelist. I knew him as "cousin Billy" from Cheraw. As great as his earthly accomplishment, he never wavered from what he truly was. Best wishes.
