Brion Baker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 30 to Oct. 6, 2023.
Brion Leonard Baker, a.k.a. Lenny Baker, 71, of Edmonds WA passed away on September 5, 2023 in Everett, WA.

Lenny was born on May 8, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio to Lloyd and Margaret Baker. Boeing brought the family to Washington in the sixties.

Lenny enjoyed being an integral part of the boat racing community for over 40 years and his impact on that community will continue for years to come. His interest in boat racing began when the family moved to Bellevue, WA and they would watch the races on Lake Sammamish, Greenlake and Seafair. He was a volunteer with Region 10 Patrol and Rescue for many years before he purchased and drove his own boat, the SS78/Aquaholic. He was a long time member and past commodore of Seattle Drag & Ski.

Lenny was an excellent auto mechanic and had recently retired after over 50 years in that field. He could fix just about anything and was known to say "I can fix that" or "I know a guy".

Lenny had a passion for collecting. He had a knack for discovering deals and hidden treasures. Christmas time was always an adventure when Lenny created complex riddles to locate some of the treasures. He was quick with sarcasm and also fierce with loyalty.

Lenny is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Mary Baker of Edmonds, WA; son Thomas Baker and his wife Beth; son Dale Baker; a sister, Barbara Baker and her husband Dick; a brother, Larry Baker and his wife Sue; 2 grandchildren, Nathaniel Baker and Grant Baker and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service for Lenny on October 21, 2023 at the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum, 5917 S. 196th St. Kent WA.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hydros for Heros https://hydrosforheroes.com/donation or to the Hydroplane Museum.
