Bud Flanagan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 5, 2025.

Bud Russell Flanagan, age 68, of Inverness, FL, escaped this world for a beautiful paradise with Jesus on Monday Feburary 3rd, 2025. Everyday Bud never forgot to put on the Amor of God: True Belt, Breast Plate of Righteousness, Shoes of the Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:13-17). He took this with him to his next great adventure.

Bud is survived by his beloved wife, Nicole Flanagan, who was the love of his life, his daughter, Kristen Hoben and son-in-law, Patrick Hoben. His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Agnes Seitz, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and nephew, Michelle Seitz, Charles Pedrick, and Quinton Pedrick. He is preceded in death by his dearly loved nephew Gabriel Pedrick. He is also survived by his sister Pamela Gause and brother-in-law Gary Gause. His sister Deborah Carter, neice Dawn Haschalk, great-nephews and neice, Kaprin, Javin, and Jaslee Jacobson. He is survived by his nephew Joseph Gause and wife Mady Gause and nephew Michael Gause and wife Brittany Gause and great-uncle to Benjamin Gause, Eli, and Gabriel. He is survived by nephews Fred Haschalk and Dennis Flanagan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Flanagan and Garnet Hallowell. His sister, Jenny Hallowell, and brother, Donald Flanagan.

He enjoyed many, many things. Among those things were Quarter Pounders from McDonald's, laughter, listening to music, doing donuts in his truck, fishing, reading the Bible, watching The 700 Hundred Club, Jeeps, hugging his dogs and cats, eating Honey Buns, football (He is rooting for the Chiefs to win from Heaven for SuperBowl LIX), Family Fued, western movies, and above all, his family.

Bud passed away knowing that Road House was the best movie with Patrick Swayze, John Wayne was the best cowboy on the planet, and hot sauce can be added to absolutely any food.

Tremendous and heartfelt thanks go to the truly exceptional hospice nurses at Vitas Hospice, who provided much more than hospice care for Bud, but also provided a peaceful and compassionate environment during his transition from this life to the next.

Family and friends are welcome to Celebrate His Life and join us on Sunday, Feburary 23rd, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There will be pictures of Bud over the years, his ultimate music playlist, refreshments, and small finger food. A viewing of his body will be taking place and following 1:00 PM, there will be a time for anyone to come up or stand up and share their love for him with everyone.

The Celebration of Life with a viewing will be at Baldwin Brothers A Funeral & Cremation Society: Ocala Cremation and Funeral Home at 11250 SW 93rd Ct Rd Suite #300, Ocala, FL 34481.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society or any Prostate Cancer Foundations.

"Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, then, put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations, and say continually: "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart has trusted in Him and I am helped. He is not only with me but in me and I in Him".
