We have heard with deep sorrow that Dr.Albert Snyder went to glory last week. We want to send our deepest sympathy to Mrs Louise and the family as a whole.
I know Dr. Albert Snyder since 1969 when I was a high school student at Kibogora junior college. Up to now, I have always seen him as a model we should emulate if we want to be called “children of God”. He was so caring, loving and committed to his work that many people he treated said “when you are told that Dr. Snyder is coming to see you, you feel already better”! In fact, his work went beyond that of an ordinary doctor. Helpless and broken hearts were also healed because of his love and care. Dr.Albert and Louise Snyder have been and will always be special to me and my family. They helped us in time of great need through scholarship fees, childcare program and other donations. When they visited us in Kenya around 2001 I didn’t know it was my last time to see him here on earth but I believe I will meet him again when death will be completely defeated. Dear Dr. Albert, you deserve a good rest with God because “your job was well done”. You will be in our hearts forever.

The Lord has called his servant Dr Snyder to be with Him in the eternity. I, Aaron Ndagijimana have known Dr Snyder from the year 1983 to 1988. During that time I was his student in medical school of Kibogora. I remember how he took care of his students as well as patients suffering from different sicknesses. His competences and kindness was appreciated all over the country, especially in Kibogora and Cyangugu areas. He was a loving Christian as well as a loving physician. He was a good example in everything. He helped the poor even those who could not afford to pay for medical treatment. He treated people as equal without considering they backgrounds. Those years he has been living in Rwanda God empowered him to help Rwandan people in many aspects of life. There are many things to say about him, but what we know for sure God will reward him according to how he fulfilled the mission In Rwanda especially in Kibogora area. May God gives him the rest He has reserved to those He loves Him.

C.Albert Snyder M.D, a man of God made history of Kibogora Hospital. I know him from 1968. I worked with him from 1969 to 1978 at Kibogora Hospital. I remember his zeal, while he was working day and night to rescue those who were near to die of many different diseases. He helped many people(medical doctors, pastors, economist, and so on...) provinding them with scholarship through their education: he established many medical satellite centers in the Western Province of Rwanda(central Africa). He was my best adviser. May God keep his soul in everlisting rest.

Dr C. Albert Snyder M.D.

I take this opportunity to express my dypest sympath to Louise and the rest of the whole family of Snyder, especially Gleen.

To Albert:
The Bible says that there is time for everything, but I wouldn't imagine that you would leave us so quickly.
I remember you from my early years at Kibogora when you operated my thumb and gave it another shape. Since then you put a mark of your name in my life. However, this event has not been the only significant impact on my life, because you later showed up when I was wondering how life was going to be after loosing my both parents in the tragic war that took place in my home country Rwanda. Through your tender heart, financial and moral support I was able to learn english and join university studies again. To me, your love has been unimaginable, and I call you my "angel". Well, I had hoped to see you again, but God has decided to call you home before I could do so. You have shown a kind of love that all of us who have been previledged to know you, will not forget.
May your soul rest in the aboundant peace of the Almight God!

I spent a year in Nundu, Zaire with Al and Helen Nelson. I remember spending time with Dr. Al observing surgery and with his sons at the lake. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We only found out about the funeral two hours before the memorial or we would have been there. The gift of service your husband/ dad gave to the country of Rwanda will leave a legacy that lives on eternally.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Scott Thompson
