I was a student at Portsmouth Northern Grammar School and he taught me around 1960-1962, and with private organ lessons. Happy memories!

A wonderful person and incredible teacher. Had many very happy years over 25 in fact, of serious study of the Bach chorales and composition. Such special times with you and your dear wife Joan, whose cakes and chats were such a delight. What a wonderful painter you were Joan. Love you both so much. Thank you for the hours of laugher, we had such joke together. Life and death can never separate us. You are in my heart and memory always. Bless you both. Still working on those chorales "sir." Will get that chorale guide written someday and it will be dedicated to you for all the great knowledge you shared. You are and will always be the most influential couple in my life. I miss you heaps, but you are still there by my side, guiding me in the right direction, your words of warning over consecutive 5ths and octave, and the taste of those gorgeous cakes. Such happy, and meaningful times. Big hug Nina X

I know it´s a long time since his passing, but just seen it. Recall great evenings puning with Cary and listening to him improvise on the piano. His son Ivor was a good friend. Any info on Ivor would be appreciated

Just seen this. I remember so well the musical and "punny" evenings.
I'm sure he's still making people laugh.
