Several pages of my yearbook are still alive with Carl's great humor, laughs and WILD times. For myself and those who were able to share memories with him can all consider themselves very fortunate as I have never met another person quite like Carl. Love you. JD

Carl was such a warm person... I can still remember hanging out in his room, listening to music.. he was so full of ideas... his thoughts often ran from the bizarre to the brilliant... I've thought of him quite often over the years, hoping he was well and happy... I'm so sorry for the family's loss... I'm sure his passing will leave a large void...

Carl, you will be missed. When I think of you I think of your cars. In fact, last week I saw an MGB-GT and thought of you and the blue one you had. I think of you playing the guitar and singing. I always enjoyed listening to you. I think of you as a great debater with many thoughts on politics and the world. I think of your laughter. We had lots of fun at the Press Room. Those were good times. I love ya!

Carl's wry humor made my sister and me laugh ourselves sick in art class back at Lisbon. Such a funny, bright, warm, wonderful guy...
He will be remembered fondly.

Dear Karen and Nadia, our thoughts are with you in your time of loss. I remember Carl as a handsome and polite young man who was always on the go, growing up next door on Armstrong Avenue in Lisbon. He accomplished a lot in his short life and I'm sure you will miss him dearly. Bette, Bob, Jolene and Mike

Carl was my friend, classmate, and fellow high school graduate. He was also my middle school boyfriend for a time. So cute and funny and smart. One of my fondest mermories of him is our 8th grade date to the school's winter carnival ball. He was so sweet bringing me flowers and chocolates! I'm so shocked and saddened to hear of his untimely passing. Carl, you have often been in my thoughts over these many years and I'd hoped that our paths would cross again. Peace to your family and to you as you depart for the next journey.
Love, tears and warm rememberance. I'll be at the memorial in spirit.

I didn't know Carl Merk. I just wanted to thank him for all the hard work he did to make so many of my favorite television shows possible. Where would we be without the creative talents of people like Carl?
Thank you Carl!

Carl was one of the warmest people I ever met and knew; his smile was always heart warming. He was a customer of mine at the Witch's Stew in Durham, and we had many conversations over beer in Portsmouth. I am so sorry for your loss; Carl was a wonderful person.
