Carlos Casas, 68, of McAllen, Texas passed away March 20, 2017 with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica and five children, Carl E. Casas of Cedar Park, John Paul Robles of Cedar Park, Bianca Cardenas of Leander, Sonya Robles of Leander, and Clara Jasmer of Wichita Falls. Carlos is also survived by his mother, Elena Medina Casas of McAllen; his sisters, Gloria Moon of Pflugerville and Apolinar Muniz of San Juan; and his brothers, Homer Casas of McAllen, David Casas of Pflugerville, Javier Casas of Roma, Omar Casas of McAllen, Leo Casas of San Juan, Hector Casas of McAllen, and Juan Casas, Jr. of McAllen. Twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive Carlos. His father, Juan M. Casas, Sr. preceded him in death.

Carlos enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 1, 1968. He served for 20 years with eleven years active duty and nine years in the reserves. He is a Gulf War Veteran, codenamed Operation Desert Storm. Carlos retired from the United States Air Force on March 25, 1996.

Carlos became a member of the Wichita Falls Police Department in 1979 and served until 1986. Carlos later moved to Austin and became a member of the Austin Police Department serving from 1986 through 2006, when he retired after 20 years on the force.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas.

Graveside services which will include military and police honors will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, 330 Berry Lane, Georgetown, Texas.
