Carlyle F. Taylor, 77, of St. Augustine, died on Aug. 15, 2008, at Flagler Hospital. Carlyle was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Taylor worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, working for S.A. Rollins Construction, Dupont & Sons Construction and most recently for Grumman Corp. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Rev. Parker Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery. A visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Johns Family Funeral Home (385 State Road 207). He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen Taylor of St. Augustine, a daughter, Donna Volkner and her husband Jim, a son, Robert Taylor and his wife Ann, and a brother Charles Taylor, all of St. Augustine, grandsons, David Solano, Cory Taylor, and Jason Taylor, and a great-grandson, Gavin Taylor. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Taylor.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
