Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 15, 2024.
Obituary:

Carol Ann Zippay (nee Lynn) passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 86, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on July 24, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Emily Wahlbrink Lynn and Roy Lynn.

Carol was a dedicated school teacher at multiple locations, an administrative secretary, a meeting planner for TAPPI, and a legal secretary for Capell Howard in Montgomery, Alabama. She was an alumna of Northeastern State Teachers College (Truman State) where she met the love of her life .

Jim and Carol made many moves over the years, Braidwood ILL, Crownpoint IN, Crossville TN, Slidell LA, Tyler TX, Carrollton GA, Atlanta GA and finally settling in Montgomery AL.

Carol will be remembered for her quick wit, love for knitting, passion for Braves baseball, and her knack for multitasking. She took great pride in proofreading legal documents, even after spell check. Carol also enjoyed the casino, volleyball, fishing, golf, bowling, traveling, card games, her kitties and above all her love and pride in her children and grandchildren

She is survived by her brother, Tom Lynn (Susan); daughter, Cathleen Zippay (Max); son, Douglas Zippay (Amy); grandchildren, James, Caroline, Tyler, and Tanner; and was preceded in death by her husband, James Zippay, and sister, Nancy Theis (Roger).

A private mass was held on April 10, 2024. Contributions in Carol's memory can be made to Homeland Hospice of St. Louis.

We place our hope and trust in the Lord as she was delivered into his arms with a renewed mind, body and spirit and reunited with her husband and others gone before her.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes as there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever in Jesus . Revelations 21:4 NLT

Your mom lived a long, fun and productive life!! A memorial tree is being planted in her honor. May its roots be strong, like the unconditional love shared among the Zippay family....how wonderful your mom had all of you, to take care of her, in her final years, in the comfort of your loving home. God bless you all.
