Mr. Carrol G. Keehner, 82, of 1589 N. Hill Lane, Victoria, Ill., died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, Ill.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Marty Briney will officiate. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military Rites. Memorials can be made to the Methodist Church in Victoria or to the Victoria Fire Department First Responders.
He worked in the Quality Assurance Weapons Command Department at the Rock Island Arsenal for 17 years, retiring April 29, 1983. He graduated from Monona High School, Monona, Iowa, in 1940. He was a member of the Victoria American Legion Post 726 and a member of the New Windsor Sportsman Club for 18 years. He was a member of the Victoria Methodist Church. He served in the Air Force for eight years in Loury Air Force Base Denver, Colo., as a first lieutenant.
He was born May 3, 1922, in McGregor, Ill., the son of Vernie H. and Florencene (Niehaus) Keehner. He married Patsy A. Dalton in Mountain Home, Ark., on April 24, 1995. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Kim Keehner, of Prairie du Chien Wis., Chad Keehner, of Oelwein Iowa, and Kevin "Kip" (wife Tammie) Keehner, of Dubuque Iowa; two daughters, Penny (husband Michael) Behounek, of Chelsea, Iowa, and Mary (husband Marty) Hudrlick, of Maquoketa Iowa; three stepsons, Lynn (wife Julie) Hughes, of Cedar Rapids Iowa, Barry Hughes, of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Marc (wife Cia) Voltz, Fairfax, Va.; four stepdaughters, Lori (husband Rick) Skrivseth, of Preston Iowa, Sheri (husband Tom) Carhahan, of Davenport, Cindi (husband Jim) Simmons, of Blue Grass Iowa, and Lori (husband EJ) Renfro, of Dewey, Ariz.; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Carrol Gene "Butch" Keehner and Gary Lee Keehner.

My sympathy, my greatest sympathy is that he has some wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren he never knew. I am sorry he missed one of lifes greatest joys. (Mother of Jami and Travis)
