Catherine M. "Cathy" Kovach, 71, of Butler passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, after a courageous three-year long battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late William Sr. and Doris Black.

She graduated from Butler High School in 1968.

Cathy enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking. She was especially known for her no-bake and Christmas cookies.

She was the beloved wife of Paul Kovach, whom she married Aug. 1, 1970.

She was the mother of Rochelle Kovach and Todd (Heather Mihm) Kovach; the sister of Mary Ann Noullet, William K. (Diane) Black Jr., James H. Black, Timothy E. (Gloria) Black, Michael C. (Laurel) Black and Nancy R. Black.

She is also survived by a large and loving extended family.

Cathy was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Ann Robinson, who passed away in 2020; her brother, Robert J. Black; and her aunt Twila B. Black.
