Chad Collins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 12 to Sep. 13, 2023.
Chad Michael Collins, born on August 22, 1973, in Xenia, Ohio, left us on September 12, 2023, surrounded by the love and memories of his family and friends.

Chad was a man of many talents and a heart filled with warmth and generosity. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Michael Collins, as a true jack of all trades, excelling particularly in the realm of mechanics. His hands were skilled, and his passion lay in the restoration and maintenance of classic cars, with his cherished 1957 Chevy Bel Air being a testament to his craftsmanship and love for vintage automobiles.

Chad had a sweet tooth that could rival anyone's, a testament to his love for the simple pleasures in life. But his heart was even larger than his appetite for sweets. He was known for his honesty, kindness, and unwaveringly strong will. He approached life with a strong mind and a commitment to doing his best in all he undertook.

Chad's love for family was palpable. He recently delighted in discovering and presenting a go-cart to his beloved nephew, Dakota Collins, showcasing his affection and desire to create lasting memories with his family. He had exciting plans for his future, including a new job and cherished moments spent with those he held dear.

Chad Michael Collins will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the classic cars he lovingly restored, the sweet treats he enjoyed, and the love and warmth he shared with his family and friends.

Chad is preceded in death by his grandfather Richard Collins; grandmother Marjorie Taylor; step-grandfather Oscar Taylor; grandfather Wayne Fowler; uncles Rick and John Collins; and Glen Fowler. He is survived by his father Michael Collins; mother Sue Ivan; stepmother Charlotte Collins; sister Jessica Collins; nephew Dakota Collins; aunt Darlene Fowler; uncle Ed Collins; grandmother Pauline Fowler; and girlfriend Lisa Alderman.

May he rest in eternal peace surrounded by the love and light he brought into our lives.

So many great memories! When we were younger we spent lots of time together as the brothers were really close and together often. We were the first group of cousins and I was the baby of the group. I remember playing in the yard at the Fairborn house on the corner while our dads worked on the big rig. Chad was so neat and tidy, everything in his room had its place. Then there were nights at the skating rink, and shenanigans on the farm. Then we all learned to drive and Chad would often work on my "hand me down" 76 Chevy Nova. I believe almost all of the boys had already given it a run for its money. As I heard many stories about the things they had done to it. I would always stay with him while he worked on them and chat, which is also where I learned that cussing is required when working on cars. So many great memories. Even though we hadn't talked in a while his passing really hits home. We will miss you! Rest in Peace!

You were my cousin by blood, but you were my friend by choice. In my heart, you will forever be linked with running around Margie´s farm, dirt bikes and motorcycles, cruising around in the Malibu and the power of family and friendship all rolled into one.

My brother and I moved from Dayton to Fairborn when we were 12 and 14! Chad and Rusty were the only other kids on Byron Rd! They both became fast friends w my brother Jimmy and as we all grew up and had our own lives, time just flew by! I´ve seen his dad Mike on many occasions and always asked about Chad! So sad to hear of his passing just a few days after turning 50RIP Chad!
My deepest condolences to his family!
Sincerely, Angie Lewis

Chad came to visit one day when I was little, and he spent the day telling me all the ins and outs of his 57 Chevy Bel Air he and Dad rebuilt. He drove it around the block with me and Dad on a test ride and I thought he was the coolest big brother in the world and I still do.
