Charles B. Perkins

Charles B. Perkins, 64, of Charleroi, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at his home following a lengthy illness. Born June 1, 1942, to the late Preston and Kathleen Perkins, he resided in the Mon Valley all his life. Mr. Perkins loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and was an avid hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted companion of over 30 years, Doretta King, who was with him to the very end; one son, Shawn King, and daughter Candy King, both of Charleroi; 19 brothers and sisters, and three grandchildren, Shawn and Jacob King, and Nicholas Cooper, of Charleroi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 645 McMahon Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Minister Millie Thomas of Embraced by His Love Ministries. Interment will be Fellsburg Cemetery, Rostraver Township. Trudy Taylor Bristol, funeral director, is in charge of arrangements.
