Cheryl D. Bachman, 48, of Fort Madison, Iowa passed away 8:44 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. Born May 21, 1965 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Bill and Whilla (Peterman) Shinn. She married Bryan Bachman, they later divorced. She married Casey McFadden, they later divorced. Survivors include her daughter Jennifer (Nolan) LeMaster of Gulfport, Mississippi, granddaughter Aleah LeMaster, her mother Whilla Shinn of Fort Madison, Iowa, four sisters Pamela (Charlie) Branagan of Benton, Louisiana, Penny Kramer of Argyle, Iowa, Lisa (Randy) Hammer of Donnellson, Iowa, Valerie (Russell) Warneke of Argyle, Iowa, biological family Mary Ellen Grady of Fort Madison, Iowa, half brother Terry Grady of Elwood, Illinois, half sister Kerry Urso of Elwood, Illinois, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Bill Shinn and grandparents and her biological father Jerry Grady. Cheryl was a 1983 graduate of Central Lee High School. She attended Southeastern Community College. After college, Cheryl lived in Florida for 18 years until moving to Fort Madison where she worked for the City of Fort Madison's Water Department. Cheryl enjoyed boating, motorcycle riding, spending time with her granddaughter, family and friends and her dog Zipper. Friends may call from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, Iowa. The family will meet with friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with Reverend Mark P. Spring as celebrant. A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Charleston Cemetery in Charleston, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory.
