Neither Chet nor I had any idea when we were little trouble makers in that Sabbath School class in the back of the Ocala, FL SDA church that our lives would be connected 'til the very end of his life. It was fun then and has been even more fun and so rewarding in the last 40+ years. We were devoted to keeping each other humble by our comments but more so to the ministry that kept us connected. My late husband and I were privileged to have Pastor Damron give us pre-marital counseling and subsequently perform our wedding. When we faced difficult times, I remembered his thoughtful insights about international marriages. I was fortunate to meet him on one of my visits home to the States. He was just as warm and caring as he had been when I was preparing for marriage.

I and my family were friends with "Checky", as we knew him, as a very young man along with his 2 brothers, his parents, Deedee and Ollie when they all lived in Bradenton, FL.
