Chester Nieland Obituary
Growing up on Singer Island, Florida, Dr. Nieland was a son of Lee Nieland and Juliette Dumenes Nieland. As a surgeon, he was known for his steady hand and his quick wit. As a father and friend, he will be remembered as loving and selfless.
Surviving are his daughters Whitney Nieland and Bridget Merchant; and a brother, Jack Nieland.

I was Chet's Nurse for several years, but he was one of my best friends.. I feel a lost . He supported me when I thought my world had ended.. we shared ups and downs, talked politics and sports, love and relationships ... I already miss him.

Dr. Nieland was a Godsend to my family, most definitely to my mom. He was her best friend, and I am so grateful for him being there to get her through my father's loss. I truly mourn him, for he was a great man and a great doctor. This is a terrible loss, for the family and friends, the medical field, and the world.

Eighteen years this man saved my father's (Frank Papaneri) life. He personally performed the surgery at Seven Rivers Hospital with little time to spare. The whole Papaneri family sends their deepest condolences and thanks to Dr. Nieland and family.
