Our angel on earth and now in heaven, Christine Ann Hannifin Dugdale, died Feb. 22, 2008 On Aug. 26, 1954, a whirlwind touched down in Butte, Montana. "It's a buppy, it's a buppy," brother Emmett shouted with glee. God had bestowed a wonderful gift on the home of Emmett and Charlotte (Doggett) Hannifin. Christine was a middle child with older siblings: Jimmy Knox, Teresa Knox, Emmett Hannifin, and younger brother, Tim Hannifin. Not wanting to miss her share of attention, Christine attacked life with vitality, an Irish temper and a Samaritan's heart. One could not choose a better friend or a worse enemy.
Christine graduated from Immaculate Conception Grade School and on occasion attended Butte Central High School in order to visit with her many friends. Christine developed a passion for style and grace which she would abandon in order to enjoy a good fight with her brothers. She was a very classy woman who defied convention. Christine studied interior design at Montana Tech, Washington State University and the University of Montana.
She fell in love and married Stan Dugdale in April 1983. After a brief career in real estate sales, Christine found her niche in real estate appraisal. Chris and Stan complemented each other. Together, they built a business and a life with two wonderful sons, Taddy and Sanjo. Christine was always loving and generous with others, but her family was her foundation.
While Chris had little leisure time, her generosity and self-sacrifice was boundless: assisting and sometimes housing elderly relatives and friends, not only praying in church but cleaning the church, heading Immaculate Conception Preservation Fundraising Committee, years on the Montana Tech Board of Directors, and hosting boys from Ireland through Project Children for several years.
Ironically, the people who Christine expected to be caring for, Stan, Taddy and Sanjo, became her caregivers as her health declined. Christine was loved and cherished as she fought a battle with cancer that she could not win. Christine always walked with God, but in her later years further embraced her Catholic faith, which gave her much solace and peace.
Preceding Christine in death were her mother and father; brother, Jimmy Knox; brothers-in-law, Fred Dugdale, Ray Dugdale, Art Dugdale; and aunt, Mary Hannifin.
Surviving Christine are her husband, Stan; sons, Tad and Sanjo; siblings, Teresa (Mick) Lowney and Teresa's children, Nels, Gretchen and Emily, Emmett (Pat) Hannifin and children, Tim and Bridgette, Tim (Joann) Hannifin and children Sean, Ben, and Talitha; brothers-in-law, Brad (Dorothy) Dugdale and Russ (Joan) Dugdale; sister-in-law, Irma Dugdale; Stan's children, Stan (Danielle) Dugdale and children Ashley and Sam, Deanna Dugdale, and Dannette (Jay) Fredrickson and children Mariah, Haakon, Jayson and Carynn; and a large extended family.
Christine loved life and always found the best in others. Words cannot describe how she touched everyone who knew her. She always said, "Every bump is a boost," and she will remain in our hearts and "boost" our spirits forever.
Christine's remains will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where friends may call beginning Wednesday at 5 p.m. Parish Vigil Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at the church Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the Revs. Bob Hall and Gregory Burke as celebrants. Please be patient as Christine will probably be late.
Memorial: Immaculate Conception Church Preservation Fund.

Teresa and family, many of us can only imagine losing a loved one so close to us. From the numerous comments already posted in this guest book it's not hard to see how much of a loss this is to everyone touched by Christine's frienship and love. Our hearts go out to you all in your time of loss and sorrow. I'm jealous of those of you who had the opportunity to know such a wonderful person. I'm also grateful for our little office's important connection to her via her wonderful sister (that's you Teresa). It appears anyone who has know this family is irreparably blessed with some measure of great happiness. On behalf of my family and office our thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

To the Dugdale & Hannifin Family, I am so sorry to hear of Chris's passing. I went to high school with her, and am so glad she came to the last class reunion. We had a very nice visit. I remember her telling me she was not going to come, and her sister told her to get dresssed and get down there!! She was always a sweetheart in high school, which seems years behind us, but also just like yesterday. My sympathy to all of you. God Bless

Stan, Tad, Sanjo & Family
Thank you for sharing your family with our family. You are right, Stan, if you can count a handful of great friends, you are wealthy. I am fortunate for that friendship with Chris & I will miss our early morning phone calls. All of you have done a fabulous job to honor a woman who so deserves it. She held her family and friends close. She was generous, loving, giving, faithful, caring, loyal & had so much integrity, above all. We love all of you and will miss Chris every day.

Stan, Tad and Sanjo,
Our hearts go out to all of you. Chris was a dear friend and a wonderful person and she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her and I can't imagine the loss you must be feeling. I love this poem and it sounds so much like words Chris would be saying to you. Hopefully it will give you some comfort at such a sad time because I know she would not want you to be sad and she loved you all so much!
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
