Christopher Conlon Obituary

Christopher Conlon, M.D.

1959-April 3, 2025

Dr. Christopher Conlon, a devoted physician, beloved partner, and cherished father, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Chris was born in 1959 in San Diego, California, but spent the majority of his childhood on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in Western New York State.

After moving to Knoxville, Tennessee, Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Tennessee in 1981 and completed his Doctor of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School in 1986. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1989. After completing his residency and marrying his former wife, Deborah Conlon, Chris began his career with the Indian Health Service. Chris later settled in Albuquerque, where he worked as a well-respected internal medicine physician.

Chris was known for his sharp intellect, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to both his patients and the people he loved. His gentle demeanor, calm presence, and quirky sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Volunteers. He also loved spending time outdoors. Chris had a deep fondness for animals, especially the many who found their way into his home over the years. He cherished time with his children, who will always carry his memory close.

Chris is survived by his mother, Kathleen Conlon; his brother, Timothy Conlon and his wife, Michelle, of Versailles, New York; his three children, Abigail Conlon and her fiancé, Jonathan Petrillo, Sydney Snow and her husband, Zach Snow, and Patrick Conlon; and his beloved partner of fourteen years, Cynthia Chavez; and his former wife and mother of his children, Deborah Conlon, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilber and Ethel Parker of Versailles, New York.

His memory lives in all of their hearts, and in the lives of the many family members, patients, and friends who grew to know and love him.

A Memorial Service for Chris will be held near his childhood home in Western New York on May 17, 2025. The exact time and location will be shared once available. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Humane New Mexico.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear of Chris's passing. Was thinking of old and very supportive friends from UT College of nursing and looked you up to come across this sad news.

So you are 90. I will be 90 in March and am living in Vero Beach Florida. [email protected]. I hope you will contact me.
If memory serves me I thought you had moved back to the reservation in NYS
Thinking of the time you flew into Montego Bay Jamaica and mistakenly were taken in by the aggressive taxi drivers and delivered to the house in Runaway Bay at the exorbitant $100.00. I am well ,driving, exercising in the pool, going to our local museum, ballet and spaceocast symphony for social.. If there is ANY possibility of yu escaping the winter of 2026 I wold be more than happy to have yu for a house get for a couple of weeks.
please let me hear from you. text.. email. voice mail 518-577-4132
Ups always were very supportive and a best friend on the faculty.

My sincere condolences to all of Chris's family and friends. I have many fond memories of Chris from when our children were young, and our families were good friends. I especially remember the Cub Scout days. Chris always had a twinkle in his eyes and a ready laugh. He left the world a better place and lives on in many hearts - the true marks of a life well lived.

Dr. Conlon was the most compassinate, smart, kind individual any one could hope to know. I got to be his Nurse for a few short years - maybe 5 years. All I had to do is ask him and he would do it. He is missed by his Compadre Dr. Casul who worked with for many years previous to coming to our Clinic at Montgomery, and Joanna and myself and others. He had left our clinic but was not forgotten, Joanna and I spoke of of him daily on how we missed him.. We will sontinue to Miss him and think of him. Prayers and condolences to the family from all of us at the Montgomery Clinic. We mourn with you on your loss. Hugs.
