Christopher Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 6, 2024.
June 28, 1962 – June 5, 2024

Christopher Scott Moore, age 61, passed away peacefully at home in Seattle, WA on June 5, 2024.

Chris left us far too soon after being diagnosed with glioblastoma nearly two years ago. Chris knew how much he was loved and spent many quality hours with his family and friends during the last months of his life. Chris was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Chris was born and raised in Seattle. He attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School in 1980. Through school and his love of sports, Chris developed many lasting friendships while growing up. Following high school, Chris attended the University of Washington. When he was only a few credits short of graduation, Chris had to put school on hold so that he could work full-time. Eventually, he was able to return to the UDub, earning his bachelor's degree in psychology at age 47.

Chris primarily worked in the field of medical records. Starting as a copier, he worked his way up to become vice president of a local company that specialized in the release of medical records. Chris' hard work and determination were evident throughout his career. After the company he worked for was sold, he decided to retire early and spend more time with his sons, Kyle and Ryan. He cherished being their number one fan and took pleasure in attending all their school and sports activities, along with helping to coach several of their teams. Chris spent many happy hours watching sports with his sons and playing golf with them. After Kyle and Ryan graduated from high school, and a few years before his illness, Chris embarked on a new career in real estate.

Chris met his wife, Susanne, in 1995 after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. They quickly fell in love and married in 1997. Sons Kyle and Ryan were born in 1999 and 2001. Susanne, Kyle, and Ryan enjoyed a close relationship with Chris, and together they always made time for family.

Chris was an avid sports fan, with Husky football and Mariners baseball being his favorites. Chris was a Husky football season ticket holder for 34 years and was honored as the season ticket holder of the game last November. He was able to attend the Husky football national championship game in Houston before his health took a significant turn for the worse. Chris loved Mariners baseball and was a fan from day one. Chris was also a member of the Sand Point Country Club and spent many happy hours playing golf. Chris enjoyed traveling and, in particular, had fond memories of traveling the world with his brother, Brad, when they were young adults.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Susanne, and his sons, Kyle and Ryan. He is also survived by his parents, Lynn and Keith Kessler, along with his siblings, Brad Moore (Suwalee), Bill Moore, and Jamie Kessler (Matt). He is further survived by his two nieces and a large extended family. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Moore.

A celebration of Chris' life will be organized at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the University of Washington's Alvord Brain Tumor Center in Chris' memory: https://give.uwmedicine.org/give/

Chris will be deeply missed. His kindness, loyalty, and love for his family and friends will always be remembered. He was amazing.

Leslie and I send our deepest sympathies to Susanne Kyle and Ryan. We all had many gatherings at Haller lake when our kids were young. Chris and Susanne were our neighbors and we were lucky to have them in our lives for many years. We all went to Husky games, dinners at home and out, Whistler and golf. Chris had the rare ability to listen to people and be a good friend when you needed a good friend. Chris was a good person and able to give quality advice. I´ll miss my annual husky football texts with Chris. sincerely, Byron Wetherholt

I only found out today of Chris' passing. I know Chris through softball but he also invited me to play golf at Sandpoint a couple of times, The first time I asked Chris how a particular putt broke. He told me and it broke the opposite way. After accusing him of trying to make me miss the putt, we realized that he was facing me when he told me and we both got a good laugh. Chris was a kind and gentile man who will be missed by many. Condolences to his family and many, many friends who loved him.

Susanne, Kyle and Ryan, we are so saddened to learn of Chris' passing. Wishing you peace and comfort in the days and months ahead. This quote will hopefully be a reminder of all the living Chris did and the love for his family and friends. "Don't cry because it is over - smile because it happened." Thinking and praying for you all at this difficult time. The Tonina Family

I remember Chris working hard on his chipping at Sand Point on the practice green and though he struggled a bit with it, his perseverance and good humor about the challenges of golf always shown through. He was always friendly and if good humor and approached the challenges of golf with optimism and cheer. I will miss him. May his memory be a blessing to his family.
