Clara Agnes Bruno

Clara Bruno, age 94, of Clinton Township, MI, formerly of St. Clair Shores, MI, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019. She was a strong woman raised in Detroit, MI by her Polish immigrant parents during the great depression and was fluent in both Polish and English. Clara attended Immaculate Conception Grade School in Detroit and graduated from the Felician Academy in 1942. In 1943, she married her sweetheart, the late Lawrence Bruno, and they shared 43 years of love and devotion to each other. Together they raised four children. Clara lived her life for her husband and children and was proud of their accomplishments. She was devoted to her faith and considered herself very blessed to have a wonderful family. Clara was close to her sisters Marie Mazura and Irene Bialkowski and enjoyed spending time with them shopping, dining, going to the movies, vacationing at the cottage, and playing pinochle. Her favorite pastime was dancing, especially the polka. Clara worked at Packard Motor Company during World War II and later retired from the J. L. Hudson Company. Clara is survived by her children Lawrence Bruno, Dr. Philip Bruno (Paula), Josephine Urban (the late John), and Bernadette Reghi (John). She is the proud grandmother of Christopher Bruno (Heather), Steven Bruno (Cathy) and Eric Urban. Great-Grandmother to Scott, Samuel, Alexander, and Daniel. Survived by her many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Genevieve, Marie, Irene and Steve. Funeral Service, Instate Saturday 9:00am at St Paul of Tarsus Church 41300 Romeo Plank Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48038 until time of 10:00am mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Felician Sisters, 36800 Schoolcraft Rd., Livonia, MI 48150, Attn: Sister Mary Alfonsa.
