Clifford H. Lewis, joined his wife of 75 years, Irene, on July 12, 2016.

Clifford was born on January 25, 1920 in Nashwauk, MN, to Mary (Neugert) and Hubert Lewis. He married Irene Saunders on August 22, 1940 in Wisconsin Rapids. She died July 16, 2015.

Clifford proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. During the war he earned the Bronze Star Medal. He belonged to the American Legion for 75 years.

Clifford and Irene enjoyed life to the fullest. They loved family gatherings and especially watching all of the kids playing. They loved camping at their place in Lake Tomahawk and with the Bow Club in Babcock, with lots of family and friends. They also liked traveling, especially Lake Mojave, in AZ. Clifford was an avid hunter and fisherman, with many bucks to his credit. He was always known for a "good story".

He retired from NEPCO/Georgia Pacific in 1981 after 45 years of service.

Clifford is survived by 4 children, Sharon (Donald) Iverson of Wisconsin Rapids, Terry (Bonnie) Lewis of Nekoosa, Brenda Jackson of Wisconsin Rapids, and Dean (Vanessa Kenaston) Lewis of Springview, NE. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Robert (Martha) Schooley, Kimberly (Gregg) Fox, Scott (Kim) Schooley, Cynthia Schooley, Amy (Jodi) Wilke, Daniel (Diana) Schooley, Chad (Kristen) Lewis, Jerilyn (John Honeycutt) Warner, Lori (Chad) Brost, Jacob Lewis, Kim Iverson and 34 great grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren and a brother, Ronald Lewis of Nekoosa.

He was predeceased by his parents, loving wife Irene, brother and sister in-law Clarence and Florence Lewis, infant brother Lester, sister and brother in-law Opal and Fred Fierke, sister in-law Betty Lewis, great grandson David Schooley, and grandson David Iverson.

We would like to thank the Renaissance staff and Aspirus Hospice for their warm and tender care of Dad. It is greatly appreciated.

Terry/Bonnie and family,

Sorry to hear about your loss. Maggie was fun to hunt with over the years. We all have a lot of memories. He was an outstanding member of the Tracker's Bow Club, and many people learned a lot from him. It was fun camping at his land by Cranberry Rock.
