Cristina Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 16, 2025.
Cristina Kay Jones, 46, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Douglasville, Georgia. Born on November 21, 1978, in Marietta, Georgia, Cristina lived a vibrant and expressive life rooted in faith, creativity, and compassion.

Cristina was a woman of deep conviction and boundless energy. Her Christian faith was central to her identity-first baptized as an infant in her ancestral home of Greece, she later reaffirmed her commitment to Christ through adult baptism. She found joy and purpose in reading the Bible and sharing its teachings with those around her. Her spiritual journey was not only personal but also communal; she actively volunteered at local churches and shelters, offering both her time and heart to those in need.

A passionate learner with a love for history and travel, Cristina embraced every opportunity to learn about new places and cultures. Her curiosity about the world was matched by her love for animals.

Cristina's artistic spirit shone brightly throughout her life. She expressed herself through painting, writing poetry, modeling, and other creative pursuits. Her art was a reflection of her soul-vivid, bold, and full of emotion. She had a gift for connecting with others through both words and images, leaving lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her.

She is lovingly remembered by her mother Maria Cobble; siblings Anna Goodin, John Karagos, Twyla Edwards Holloway, Jim Edwards Jr., and Melanie Edwards Frasure; cousin Don Edwards; children Brandon Elliott, Breanna Putman, and DeShondra Jones; and granddaughters Scarlet Marie Elliott and Callie Grace Putman.

Cristina now joins those who preceded her in rest: her maternal grandmother Anna Gagani; grandfather Mihalis Gagani; uncle Panayiotis Gagani; aunt Hrisoula Pavly; fraternal grandmother Dolly Wallace Edwards; Father James H. Edwards; and uncles Gerald Edwards, Corky Edwards, Richard Edwards, and Glenn Edwards.

A memorial service honoring Cristina's life was held on May 17, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia.

May the memory of Cristina Kay Jones bring comfort to all who knew her and continue to inspire love, faith, and creativity in the lives she touched.
