Cynthia (Cindy) Goodwin Obituary
Cindy was the mother of Kevin (Heather Eckert) and Wendy Rosenquist; sister of Greg (Donna) and the late Morris (the late Patty) Goodwin.
Cindy's life was enriched by her passion for gardening and music. She discovered comfort and happiness in the harmonies of life, and found great peace whenever she was playing her piano, singing, or tending to her ever-expanding garden. Cindy saw and brought forth great beauty through her unwavering Faith and spiritual connections with God and her surroundings.
Cindy's devotion to her Faith shone through in all aspects of her life, whether it was lending a helping hand at the local food pantry or participating in the church choir. Her spiritual path was defined by empathy, love, and a profound bond with her convictions. Drawing strength from prayer, she generously extended that strength to others.
Her warm smile, kind heart, infectious laughter, and compassionate nature touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact on her community.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows. A service will follow at 5:00 pm, where we will celebrate Cindy's life and the impact she had on all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any of the organizations Cindy contributed to: Salvation Army, USO, Christus Victor Lutheran Church Food Pantry, and the Elk Grove Public Library.

Once a member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, Cindy was faithful and an active participant in both worship and church activities. My hope is that the peace that so often escaped Cindy in life is now hers, in full. Rest in peace Cindy and may Light Perpetual shine upon you. May your soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Cindy was one of my very first friends when I moved to Elk Grove Village back in 2000. Wendy was just a little tike at the time, you probably don't remember me. From what I remember your mom was loved by the neighbors, too i remember she gave piano lessons to the some of the kids in the neighborhood. Your mom and I used to hang out quite a bit we used to do gardening together exchange vegetable ideas that she was planning on growing that season. We'd sit out on her patio in the backyard for hours laughing and joking talking about everything and anything. I'll never forget her laugh it was so jolly and warm right from the belly right from the heart. Not to long ago we reconnected on Facebook.
I will always cherish our good times in my heart. You will be missed.

We were in Concert Choir together in high school I believe she was a class ahead of me, she was a leader in the choir and she was in madrigals.
