Former miner Mr David Renshaw (56), of Princess Avenue, South Normanton, was buried in the churchyard after a service at St Helen's Church, Pinxton. Pall bearers were his friends, Mr M. Langham, Mr T. Phelen, Mr A. Gorden, Mr P. Cane, Mr R. Pete and Mr L. Gell.
A life-long local resident, Mr Renshaw was educated at Pinxton and South Normanton.
He worked as a miner at several local collieries from leaving school until 1983 and enjoyed football, horse racing and spending time with his family.
Mr Renshaw, who died at the John Eastwood Hospice, Sutton, leaves his wife, Mrs Wendy Renshaw, sons Darren and Josh, daughters Kirsty and Milissa and granddaughter Delilah.

Floral tributes were received from the above mourners, Miss T. Phelan, friends and neighbours from Princess Avenue. Donations of £293.50 were for the John Eastwood Hospice, Sutton.
The service was conducted by Mrs P. Goodchild, and arrangements were by W. Flint.
