Daniel Colangelo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2024.
Daniel J Colangelo, AKA Danny Carr, was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather who passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 88.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Daniel's passion for life showed in everything he did. He was a US veteran who survived his country with honor. Daniel had a successful career in real estate for 64 years. As a performer, he captivated audiences with his performances of; "My Funny Valentine," "That's Life," and "My Way," leaving a lasting impression. Daniel's magnetic personality and infectious energy touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him, whether on stage or off. He was known for his fabulous fashion sense and one-liner jokes.

Daniel is survived by his devoted wife, Joanna, his loving son, Peter, and his adoring granddaughters, Olivia and Grace. Also, two brothers, a sister-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He shared an enduring love with his wife; they built a life filled with love and laughter. They had two beautiful children. Although they suffered the traumatic loss of their daughter Paula at a young age, they always found strength in each other. Daniel's role as a father was marked by his unconditional love, a source of inspiration, instilling in them his passion for family, music, and a strong sense of purpose. His presence brought warmth and joy to his granddaughters, who were the light of his life.

The passing away of an extraordinary man leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him. He was more than just a person; he was a beacon of light, a source of inspiration, and a pillar of strength for many. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched countless lives, leaving a legacy that will endure through the memories and stories shared by those fortunate enough to have known him. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed, but his impact will continue to resonate, guiding and inspiring others for years to come.

In honor of Daniel's remarkable life, a private celebration will commemorate his enduring legacy. Details will be shared with close friends and family in the coming days.

Uncle Danny was a true icon. He made an impression wherever he went and made everyone smile who came in contact with him. I have the fondest memories of my uncle and godfather and am so thankful to have known him my entire life. Though we are sad to not have him with us, his memories bring true joy to our lives forever.

In 2011 I lost my husband to cancer. Dan was always like a brother to me and when my daughter got married, who else but Dan could escort me down the isle. I will always remember him. Love you Dan

Fortunately we had the privilege to get to know Dan when we move to Palm Beach 14 yrs ago. He was our friend, mentor and an inspiration as to how he lived life. We will never forget his stories, advice and wisdom. We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to know Dan and Joanna.
