DANIEL K. HOOVER

DANIEL (DAN) K. HOOVER Dan passed away on February 4, 2018 at the age of 45. Dan was born in Pensacola, FL. to Curtis and Sharon Hoover. Dan will be forever loved, son, brother, uncle and best friend too many to count. He became a car enthusiast at a young age or anything that went fast thanks to our dad. At age 17 he developed a love for the hydroplane races. Then Dan got a job offer of a lifetime in 1998 working on the pit crew for Appian Jeronimo U-5. Dan moved to Vegas to be on the pit crew for USA Racing York U-10 for five years. He then moved to Milton, FL. to build and race offshore race boats. Dan then went to work for Marc at the Halifax Harbor Marina as the Harbor Master in Daytona FL. for six year. While working on race weekends with Graham Trucking Hydroplane Team on their pit crew. Dan then followed Jimmy Shane to the Oh Boy Oberton U-1 Hydroplane Race team as a member of the pit crew and radio man for Jimmy. Then in 2016 HomeStreet Bank bought the race team and offered Dan the title Crew Chief of the U-1 Miss Madison HomeStreet Bank Hydroplane team. Dan loved leading the team and winning the 2016 and 2017 Chanmpion-ship title. In 2016 Dan won the crew chief of the year award. Dan was involved in the hydroplane circuit for over 20 years, people and teammates knew Dan and called him a leader and a friend. Dan will be missed and heaven got one hell of a crew chief. Dan is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles and our dad Curtis Walter Hoover. Dan is survived by our mother Sharon Hoover, myself (his Twin sister Danielle (Hoover) Burdett) his brother in law Ben Burdett and his one and only nephew Gabriel Curtis Burdett (the Kid as Dan called him). Dan is also survived by many aunts and numerous cousins. Dan was excited as he could be to learn that he was getting a nephew. Gabe idolized his Uncle Dan, all we heard was uncle Dan said this and uncle Dan said that. Gabe would be down in the shop working with Dan all the time. This winter Dan pulled him behind a tractor and Gabe had a blast and did not want him to stop.
