Danny G. "Dude" Bays BRISTOL, Tenn. Danny G. "Dude" Bays, age 58, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Nashville, Tenn. He was born in Jenkins, Ky., Sept. 20, 1953, to the late Raymond Bays and Dorothy Kelbourn Bays and had lived in Bristol since 1974. Danny was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He was a disabled brick mason and he greatly enjoyed the sport of billiards, especially 9-ball and loved Kentucky Wildcats basketball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Pruitt and by two brothers, Tom and Joe Bays. Survivors include his wife of 37 years and mother of his children, Doris S. Bays; son, Casey Bays and wife, Candice; daughter, Janet Oliver and husband, Tommy; two grandchildren, Airyana Bays and Kylie Oliver; sister, Deanna Reed and husband, Hubert; life-long friend, Paul Griffin; special cousin, Sheilah Blankenbecler; and three brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, from the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Garland officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. prior to the funeral service. The committal service and burial will be on Friday at 1 p.m. at Eastern Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dee Oliver, Eric Eads, Earon Eads, Ryan Henard, Zan McCracken and Tommy Oliver Sr. Military Honors will be provided by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Online condolences may be registered at www.Weaverfuneralhome.net. Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
