Darrell Leon Lister born February 4th 1973 to Diane Beall- Lacy and Joe Fletcher.
Darrell left this earth August 5th 2025 after a battle that no one wanted to fight alone. With his love Betty by his side he kept trying to fight and continue his life for his two sons Dayshaun Lister and Darius Lister. But God had other plans for Darrell. God needed him in his world so he ended his fight and took him to his kingdom where he is now another one of gods angels watching over his loved ones and bringing joy and laughter to God's kingdom.
Born and raised in East Texas Darrell was a true country boy at heart. He knew the meaning of hard work and it showed in every job he held. Life long Dallas Cowboys fan. He had a collection of Dallas Cowboy items that grew beyond 1 room and to him they were priceless. Darrell also grew a love for frogs and had started collecting frogs through the years and gave them all names. He believed in family rather you were blood or friend. He looked at his cousins as his brothers and sisters. While growing up he spent a lot of time at Big Mama's house. Growing up with his brothers and cousins taught him the true meaning of love and family.
He based his life around his sons to make sure that they were cared for, loved and pushed to be a better version of himself. He wanted the best for his boys and made sure to give them whatever he could, teaching them right from wrong, learning from his own mistakes even when he was pushed to a breaking point. Nothing would stop him from being in his boys life! He made that known to everyone by always being there for them and teaching them about being true to yourself and others. Be who you are no matter who may not like it. His boys gave him powers to achieve things in life and made him a better man.
Darrell's smile would brighten up any room he walked into no matter how dark. His energy was electric, so much that if you were having a bad day he could make you smile and forget about anything bad that was going on. He was light hearted and made jokes out of any situation to cover the hurt that someone may have been going through. His laugh was contagious. His life was truly meaningful in every way. He will be missed dearly by so many loved ones, family and friends.
Darrell was preceded in death by his mother Diane Beall, his father Joe Fletcher, cousin Grafton Page, uncle Joe and sister LaShonda Didlo.
Darrell is survived by his two sons Dayshaun and Darius Lister, brothers Antonio Beall, Albert Lacy, Mickey Fletcher, Kenneth Fletcher, Rickey Fletcher, Cortez Stevenson, sisters Frances Fletcher, and Kim Honeycutt. His Aunt Rose Williams, uncles and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The love of his life Betty who was his partner, soul mate and future wife. Kay Fletcher the mother of several of his siblings played a part in Darrell's life being just a phone call away she was there for him to talk to when his dad was not. She always welcomed him with open arms and Darrell made sure she knew that she was a part of his life no matter how big or small.
Anyone who crossed paths with Darrell would not forget the person he was. He left a impression in everyone heart that he met. Untill we meet again in God garden of love we will forever cherish and remember you in our hearts and soul. Darrell will be reunited with his Texas family where he will be laid to rest at a later date.
Blood ties us together, but love bonds us for life! Rest in God's garden of peace.
