David Dean Blount

David Dean Blount, age 69, of Birmingham, died Wednesday, January 10th, 2024. Mr. Blount was born in Birmingham, Alabama, February 7th, 1954, the son of William Houston Blount and Frances Dean Blount.
After finishing school, David returned home to Birmingham, where he initially was involved in public commercial warehousing and equipment sales. Later, he owned and operated his own landscaping company.
He was known for his great sense of humor, quick smile and infectious laugh. He loved sharing good times with his family and friends. Above all things, he was most proud of his children, and they were proud of him.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Houston Blount. He is survived by his mother, Frances Dean Blount; siblings and their spouses, Barbara Blount Viar (Bill), William Houston (Bill) Blount, Jr. (Shannon), Beverly Blount McNeil (John), and Frances Blount Kansteiner (Walter); former wife Margaret Wiggins Blount, children and their spouses, David Dean Blount, Jr. (Julie), Gerald Wiggins Blount, and John Houston Blount (Isabella); and grandchildren, Annie, Margaret, Frances, and Houston.
A family-only memorial service will be Saturday, January 13th, 2024 followed by a visitation of close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lovelady Center of Birmingham 7916 2nd Avenue South- Birmingham, Alabama 35206.
