David Bowling, 87, of Fairborn, OH went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, OH. David was born on Friday May 22, 1936, in Bruin, KY a son of the late Dennis Monroe and Lottie Ann Evans Bowling. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by; four brothers, Wayne Bowling, Vernon Bowling, Homer Bowling, and Leroy Bowling; four sisters, Edith Martin, Nola Flannery, Ardith Kiser, and Mildred Clay.

David was a born again Christian and was converted and baptized in 1996. He was a member of the Rockwall United Baptist Church and served as Deacon for more than 20 years. David also served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He retired from the Miami Paper Corporation and after retirement he worked several years as a custodian for the Fairborn School System. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and loved to tinker and fix things around his home.

David is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Holton Bowling; one son, Dennis (Angie) Bowling of Fairborn, OH; one step- grandson, Tim (Beth) Hicks of Dayton, OH; two step- great grandchildren, Cloe Hicks and Nathan Hicks; a special niece Delores Flannery; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and friends who all mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday February 29, 2024, at Malone Funeral Home with Elders Scott Baier, Bo Mayo, Lewis Baier, Rob Baier, and Terry Marshall, officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Thursday at 11 a.m. until the service hour.
