David Feeney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 19, 2013.
David F. Feeney, 49, of Gloucester passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 19, 2013. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 4, 1963, son of the late James Feeney and Arlene (Hodges) Feeney. He was employed as a dock builder and welder for BTT Marine Construction Company in East Boston. David enjoyed an active outdoor life, especially playing catch with his daughter, working out at the gym, wrestling with his son and rock climbing at Red Rock. He was a Civil War history buff and was very book smart. He always made sure that his children were well cared for, as he always said to them, "No matter what we will always have each other". He was like an angel, always giving, sharing with others and above all doing the right thing. He also loved to give to those less fortune and gave to multiple charities. David will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Bonita J. Feeney and David B. Feeney both of Gloucester; Jennifer (McNutt) Feeney and her fiancé John Dennen of Cranston, RI; sister, Kathleen Feeney of OH; five brothers, Michael Feeney of Gloucester, William, Robert, Ronald and Donald Feeney all of OH; sisters-in-law, Annie Feeney of OH, Bonita O'Brien and her husband John of Gloucester, Kathryn Caissie and her husband Edward of Billerica and Susan Roubian and her husband Edward of Westford; brothers-in-laws, Harvey McNutt of Gloucester, Robert McNutt and his wife Debra of Billerica and Scott McNutt of NH; several nieces and nephews including Rebecca and April Feeney, William Feeney; and the family dog affectionately called Dooply. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Thomas Feeney. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish on Friday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his children, Bonita or David Feeney, 19 School Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.

Dad,

You have a grandson now. I´ll be sure to tell him about you all of the time as he grows up. I only hope he will be half the man you were, I´ll make sure of it actually. I´m so proud to call you my father. We miss you and love you forever. Until we meet again daddy.
