David Hamilton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 10, 2024.
David Junior "Buck" Hamilton, 92, passed away on September 3, 2024, in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on February 16, 1932, in St. Pauls, North Carolina, Buck was a man of many passions, from his family to his various interests.

Buck dedicated many years to Flour Daniel construction, where his hard work and commitment were evident. He proudly served in the 82nd Airborne, carrying the discipline and resilience from his military service into his personal and professional life.

He was a devout member of Berea First Baptist, where he found community and spiritual peace.

Buck was a loving husband to his late wife, Mary Madelene Hamilton, and a dedicated father and grandfather. He is survived by his sister, Nell Hamilton; his children, Deborah Phillips (Rodney), Dennis Hamilton (Jody), and Wayne Hamilton; his grandchildren, David Smith, Dallas Smith, Amanda Phillips, Alan Hamilton, Jennifer Hamilton, and Donnie Hamilton; and his great-grandchildren, Taylor Smith, James Smith, Benedict Smith, Eternity Smith, Daniel Hamilton, Brayden Hamilton, Anthony Hamilton, Cj Holder, and Jasmine Southerland.

He had a zest for life, enjoying gardening, traveling, camping, and cooking out, especially preparing pigs in the ground. His love for cars and trucks was only matched by his fondness for music, television, and his unique sense of humor, often seen in his practical jokes and pranks.

The family will gather for a service at Graceland Memorial Gardens, with arrangements handled by Graceland Funeral Home in Greenville, SC. Buck's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
