David Charles Olsen

David Charles Olsen, 73, of New Brighton, MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 1, 2025, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. David was born in Duluth, MN, on May 25, 1951, and adopted by Alf and Betty (Johnson) Olsen. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1969, and pursued further education at Duluth Technical College, where he honed the skills that would lead to a successful career in the construction industry, where he worked as a manufacturer's representative. In 1976, David married Kolleen Vicki Wohlford. They began their life together in Duluth, MN, before moving south to Mounds View where he lived for many years. Beyond his professional achievements, David had a deep passion for classic cars, including his 1968 Ford Galaxie convertible. His enthusiasm for automobiles was matched only by the joy he found in sharing this hobby with friends and family. David leaves behind his wife of many years, son, Jeremy (Katie Murphy-Olsen) Olsen; daughter, Shana Ahlstrom; brother, Ken (Carol) Olsen; sisters, Nancy Elmore and Karen (Bob) Johnson; as well as a large extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alf and Betty (Johnson) Olsen; his infant child, baby Olsen; his grandson, baby Olsen; brother-in-law, Donald Elmore; and niece and nephew, Amanda and Eric Elmore. A celebration of David's life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Mounds View, MN, 5472 Adams St, Mounds View, MN 55112. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with the service beginning at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in David's memory. The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family.
