David “Robbie” Burns, 66, died Monday March 14th, 2022, peacefully in his sleep.

David was born November 10th, 1955 in Cambridge, England to Francis and Beryl Burns. David served in the British Royal Navy for 10 years and after too many cold winters in England, David moved to Florida.

He married Regina and they had two wonderful kids, Kristine and Tyler and was there to see them both get married and see the birth his grandson, Connor.

David loved the Miami Dolphins, listening to Jimmy Buffet in the keys and Miller Lite. David shared many memories with his brother, Philip, his sister and brother in laws, his nieces and nephews, his co-workers and his friends that became family.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

The memorial service will be held Sunday March 20th at 2pm at T. M. Ralph in Sunrise, and in true Robbie fashion, drinks and some chicken wings, will follow at Landlubbers in Plantation.

Regina, it was good seeing you today during the memorial but wish it was under better circumstances. Alicia and I cannot make Landlubbers but would love to get together soon. It looks like you had some amazing times with your husband and those are the one's you should hold onto tightly especially over the next few weeks/months, which will be the most difficult. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My heart goes out to you and your family on the loss of your loving husband and father . Robbie, he was one of the most generous and kind-hearted souls I ever met, and we will never forget him. “I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.” – Leo Buscaglia

Uncle Robbie,

It still doesn't feel real, and I still don't feel like I quite have the words to say. Everyone has shared their memories and favorite stories about you, and it just proves how loved and respected you are. Everyone knows you as the fun-loving, positive spirit that was the life of every gathering. Not only were you all of those things, but you were also my (and many others') amazing uncle; you were supportive, reassuring, fun, and strong. Most of all, you always showed up; you never missed a birthday, graduation, wedding, or any other celebration. You were always there, with a "would never miss it"; whether it was at the train station as I cried my eyes out about how to get my suitcase on board or at my UF graduation when I thought that you and Aunt Regina couldn't make it.

I'll miss your jokes, stories, and presence. You created a strong, beautiful family with Aunt Regina, a family that lives in your honor and celebrates your memory.

Thank you for always being my Uncle Robbie ❤

Love always,
Katie

When I first met Robbie I immediately saw how outgoing he was. He blended right in with the whole family. You could tell right away that he loved to have fun and enjoy life. Although we didn’t know him you just knew that he was fun to be around.
Over the years I gathered a lot of memories with Robbie from playing soccer with my two oldest children, our holiday football games with all the brother in laws and nephews, the few construction projects we did together, the many Dolphin games we attended and introducing me to “E35”,and offering his home to my family while we sorted out our lives.
But most of all I learned to appreciate his love for life, his work ethic, and his ability to have a good time.
A real family man he was so proud of Kristine and Tyler and the adults they have become. And the love he had for Regina was so true.
Robbie was more than a relative to me he was my brother and friend.
Robbie will be sorely missed by me and everyone else who had the great fortune to have him in their lives.
RIP Robbie.

I have sat back and read all the posts about the tragic and untimely death of Robbie Burns. When my sister introduced him we knew that he would be a wonderful addition to our ever growing family. I remember so many “Robbie” moments. All of the precious, from him carrying in Kristine in every morning in her ABC blanket even when her legs were to long, singing the Mayonnaise or Taco songs he made up . The cake he made me and had Kristine who had just started walking bring it in with Happy Birthday Auntie Wan.
Tyler would walk in half asleep and he would point him to our room where Tyler would go right back to sleep. His fast driving and try not to be on the North Lauderdale motorcycle cops radar. His love of life and family. I am sure going to miss him calling me WEASEL! You can rest in heaven knowing you and Regina made two amazing kids who will always make you proud,

Uncle Robbie,
You were one amazing uncle! I will always remember how much you made everyone laugh and you were always the life of the party! Family gatherings won’t be the same, but I will cherish the memories that were made. I’ll miss my cool British uncle, but mostly I’ll miss you calling me Danielle Sun!
Cheers to you! I will drink an ice cold Miller Lite in your honor. Say hello to everyone in heaven for me.
Until we meet again ❤
Love, Danielle Sun

Robbie, you were one of the best brother-in-laws a person could have. Family gatherings won't be the same without you. You were loved by many and will be missed by all who knew you. I will miss our conversation that I only understood half of because of your British accent. When I was not sure of what you said I just laughed along so as not to be rude. Give everyone in Heaven my love. P.S. I hear Miller Lite is on tap, enjoy!!!!
