I have experienced a lot of loss as of late, My husband of 28 years in 2019 and my father earlier this year. Seeing this reminder in my email, I felt that I needed to say something new. Loss is hard on everyone concerned. Sometimes you don't think it's real and that they will show up at some point. I still miss David and always will because he touched my life in a meaningful way. I will always smile when I think of David and that says a lot about him. Hope when you read this you will smile too. Love always!

I learned of David's death today after sharing photos online. It is sad to hear of his passing. I was hoping to hear from him again one day...

We had some great times back in the day- cutting each others hair, listening to Cocteau Twins at the house in Sanford, and yes Stephanie, dancing at Visage. There are so many more memories, too many to list. Those were some of the best times of my life.

The world will miss him since he made such an impact on people that knew him.

David changed the way I approach music. He made me a mixtape in the mid-90's... little did he know it bookmarked a time in mine and many other friends' life. Dave aka "Mellow-D" will be remembered by me and my friends as the creator of the soundtrack of our friendship. love u man.

I only just today heard the news. Back in the late 80's and early through mid 90's, David was my best friend. I was so crushed to have heard of his passing, as I, and many others here in Florida, had been trying to find him for a long time. My memories of David are some of my fondest memories of all. He just had a charisma that I've never seen in anyone else. David rarely needed money, as people seemed to line up to pay his way into clubs just to have him there. He didn't ask, people just wanted him around. He was always so fun and bright. One time at a club, he was doing his 'hand dance' up on the balcony in the light where you couldn't see his face. People he met YEARS later would tell him how amazing it was. That was just the kind of person he was...even his hands made a lasting impression with people. :)

Ray, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I wish you two could have much more time together. I also want to thank you, because David was searching for someone special when I knew him, and I know he found that with you. The world was a better place with David in it. My only regret is that I didn't find where he was until it was too late.

My deepest condolences to all of David's family and friends. My heartfelt best goes to his sisters. You were my best friend, David, and even though it's been years since we spoke, you were never any less of a friend to me. You will be missed, but I know I will see you again. Thank you for being you.

Love always,

Thank you to all the wonderful, giving souls in Atlanta, for being the family my dearest friend Tammy needed by her side, and providing the strength and support during this time.

I knew David from Visage, here in Orlando from around 1987/88 to around 1990/91. I lost contact with him in the early 1990's but I never forgot about him and always considered him a friend. And I still do. His long time Orlando/Central Florida friends are just now learning of his passing (most of us just found out only a couple days ago). This was so saddening to hear because we all wanted to see him again, as we began reconnecting through Myspace but no one seemed to know where David had moved to. Rest in peace, David. You will be missed greatly. My deepest condolences to his partner and his family.

This is his other sister, Tammy. It's taken me awhile to write because words can't express the love, I have for my brother (my Bubba). We were bound by blood, but friends by choice. We had not seen each other for some time, but luckily we had been talking on the phone and texting each other a lot in the previous 4-5 months. I am so grateful for that time and the time, we had when he was in the hospital and at home - it was amazing !! We got to talk about many things and laughed about the craziest things. My heart is breaking right now, I miss him, so........much. But, as he would say "work it out" - and I will, in time. He was alittle crazy but that was one of the things we all loved about him so much. (plus he couldn't help it, it runs in the family) He was also, a generous and very loving person.
I believe he finally found a "home" in Atlanta. And finally found, true love in Ray, his partner (what an amazing man) Thank you all for your support and generosity while we were there - I could feel the love. He was loved by so many people - that makes my cup runneth over. To all the wonderful people we met in Atlanta - you guys (or should I say girls) - rock !!! I will see you again - BUBBA and I'll be back to Atlanta, soon.
I will try to post some pictures, soon. If anyone would like to contact me, please do.

I just learned about Dave and I want to extend my most heartfelt sympathies, to Dave's family and friends. David and I were actually buddies in the 8th and 9th grade in Deltona, Fl. Where his love of music probably began. We sang together in chorus, and teased each other all the time. We talked about our love of music and what we might do with it someday! It's heartwarming to know he lived his passions and never gave up. A lot of his friends here in FL. are mourning the loss of our friend.

I met David when he was working the patio bar at Burkhart's. I was so impressed with the white, fake fir lined bar, lava lamps and cool music. I followed David when he was let go from Burk's and went to Felix's. David was always kind, funny and quite crazy. I miss our Saturday afternoon shot tradition which started due to a complaint about the price of a Jaeger bomb.

David was a wonderful person with a great soul. He will be truly missed. Rest well, my friend.

In my heart, I long ago adopted David as the wild little brother that I never had. He showed a unique sense of style with his fashions, his music, and his hospitality. He projected a powerful yet always tasteful sensuality. With such gifts, many people would set themselves apart, above those around them. Yet David presented himself in a way that set others free to be and enjoy the best in themselves.

When David decided he wanted to go home, I told him that I planned on seeing him again, and the first round would be on me for once. Save me a spot, buddy!

I will always remember you in your coat and tie and blue jeans, cranking up the volume. You will be my boy and have a place in my heart forever. I miss you so much. So rest while you can, because when I see you again, it's gonna be, "Arms up!" for a long, long time. I love you, David. My love and hope for strength to Ray, Ana, and Tammy.

I was deeply disturbed when I received the news about David. He was one of the most loving, caring & gifted young men in this city. I was blessed and will be forever grateful he knew me. He had a remarkable way of understanding people..(even ME). He will always be remembered for this bright smile & Laughter in the hearts of many. He now knows how many hearts he touched throughout his short encounter on this earth. Ray, the grief, pain & feeling of helplessnes I can only fathom. My heart is with you through this tough period & only wish for you all the memories will fill your heart and help mend your spirit & soul much quicker.
