STOATE, David Frederick July 9, 1933 - November 1, 2006 Suddenly at the Civic Hospital, on Wednesday, surrounded by his loving family. Adored husband for 53 years and best friend of Patricia (nee Poole). Loving father of Debra (Maurice) Desjardins, Jeffrey, Brian (Sue) and Cynthia. Dear grampa of Natalie (Sean) Smith and Robert Desjardins; Tiffany, Tanya, Kurtis and Eric Stoate; and Colin and April Stoate. Proud great-grampa of Chloe and Ryan Smith. Dear brother of Jacquelyn (Walter) Coles and Marilyn (Ross) Buskard. He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Marion Rice and Fred Stoate and was the special son-in-law of the late Charles and Olive Poole. David had an abundance of friends during his lifetime through his sports, work and church. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Dialysis Unit and the ICU (especially to nurse Laryssa) at the Civic Hospital for all their care and kindness. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Drive and Baseline Road) on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at Bells Corners United Church, 3955 Richmond Road at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (Eastern Ontario Branch) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Dear Mrs. Stoate and family,
I was truly saddened to learn of Dave's passing. I first met Dave some 28 years ago where I worked at The Ottawa Construction Association. Although I have not seen Dave for some years now, I will always remember him as a kind, soft-spoken and gentle man. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts at this difficult time. God Bless you. Sincerely, Shirley Hands

hey grandpa,
I as everyone else am going to miss you. I wish that I could have told you about my new job at J. B. Mobile out in Bourget. The thing I wanted you to hear about most of all, well meet, is my girlfriend Sam. I'm sure now though that you know about my new job and Sam. I'm going to miss you and I just want to say how great of a grandfather you are and have always been to me. I love you.

I love you Grampa. I wish I could have told you one last time, although I am sure you know it. You will be greatly missed, more than you could ever know. I'll see you again someday, until then know that i think of you always.
