I was shocked to hear the news of David's untimely death. He was a man of great intellect and encyclopaedic knowledge, and with regard to the latter I learnt very quickly - but not quite quickly enough - that to place a wager with him wasn't a very sensible thing to do! But what many came to appreciate were his pragmatism and his preparedness to circumvent the many obstacles that were placed in front of him. Service Children's Education benefited greatly from his time at the helm, and Service families have a great deal for which to thank him. On a personal level I enjoyed working for him enormously and am saddened that his retirement should be so tragically short.

Very sad. Too young to die. Early Bredon School staff are dwindling away. B S celebrated 50 years last summer. We were colleagues there in the 1960's

I was very sad to hear of David's death. A shrewd, intelligent professional who gave so much of his life to Education- he deserved a longer retirement. Our first and last meeting involved a glass of red wine and I drink a glass to his memory. Be at peace.

David worked with great commitment and understanding of the Service community to achieve the best educational and cultural opportunities for children. A healthy mix of intellect, knowledge, persuasion and charm opened doors which allowed service education to flourish. I am saddened by his passing.

A champion of Service Children's Education. David Wadsworth's knowledge of the educational system as well as his understanding of MOD's working practices ensured that we in school had access to the best possible provision for the children of SCE.
Thank you, David.
