Deborah Louise Moran of Cantonment, FL passed away on May 2. Born and raised in Chicago, Debbie was the youngest of three children born to Theodore E. Moran, Sr. and Irma H. (Rhyne) Moran. She was active in keeping her family's legacy alive by participating in several large and vibrant family reunions over the years. Her family and friends will remember her as a gregarious, witty, wise, and sociable person.

In addition to her unforgettable personality, Debbie had a zest for learning. She learned to speak Chinese as a pre-teen and began working with computers in the early 1960s. She then earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and an MBA, specializing in computers and finance. This led to a decades-long career as a systems engineer and executive at IBM, where Debbie received many awards and was listed in "Who's Who" in her field.

Outside of work, Debbie loved cooking and gardening, especially at the grounds of her home in Florida. Always curious about and engaged in the world around her, Debbie was an airplane pilot, world traveler, automobile enthusiast, race car driver, entrepreneur, and collector of unique artifacts. She was also actively involved in community and charitable organizations.

Debbie is survived by her older brother and sister, Theodore Moran, Jr. and Joyce E. Moran, her great-niece Sophie, whom she helped raise, and many treasured nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
