Dear Crawford & Mackie Family,
We were very sad to hear of your sudden loss. There really are no words to ease your pain. Just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Denise touched many, many lives. She will be dearly missed.
Denise would want the memory of her precious life to bring a smile to all who knew, and loved her.
Times like this remind us of how precious life is.
See the beauty in each new day, she would have wanted it that way.
Our deepest sympathy,
Debra (Carroll) Potts, Jeff & Alexandra Potts & the Carroll Family

Crawford and Mackie Family, I'm so sorry about the loss of Denise. I know she was such a blessing to all of her family. I worked with Denise and Hugh at Walgreens Quincy and even though Denise hadn't worked in Quincy for many years, customers still asked for her, always wishing her the best. You never know how many people one person can affect just with a smile and friendly way. But I know Denise will be remembered by many.
My Deepest Sympathy
Lauren Amato

My condolences to the Mackie & Crawford family, myself , my mom Ann-Marie, and my two brothers Andy & Richie(and my father knew her as well) all worked with Denise & Hugh at Walgreens in Dorchester. I always loved seeing Denise at work , she was always in a great mood and so happy to see me as I was to see her. She was one of the nicest people I could ever meet. Miss you Denise and may you rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Lauren Amato and the Amato Family

Thank you all for celebrating such a remarkable life with us.
We have gathered in honor of our beloved, Denise Mackie Crawford.
Denise was the easy going, good natured, well educated, with phenomenal work ethics, middle child, born February 16, 1970 to her wonderfully nurturing mom, Helen & her doting, devoted dad, Ronnie! She was the loving little sister to Ronnie & Big Sister to Lori (or “Big Red”, as Dee often referred, to her little sister Lori)!
Denise was the adoring granddaughter to the revered Ma and Nan. D often stayed up past her bed time, to celebrate an important occasion, yet she always made time, in the early hours of the morning after, to do her usual back to back aerobic classes, bring hot coffee to her delighted grandmothers & brought them, along for their weekly grocery shopping trip! Dee did these things effortlessly, as she loved ANY opportunity to give back to her family.
Denise was a dutiful wife to Hugh, a lovingly dedicated, tenderly caring, and protective mother to her beautiful Julia, spirited Hughie, and sweet baby Gavin, whom she cherished more & more, with each passing day. She loved and appreciated spending time with her captivating niece & energetic nephews. Dee valued FAMILY time over ANY time!
Whenever we think of Dee Mack, we always envision her mane of long black hair, under a baseball cap, her bright vibrant, smile …& those hot red lips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dee is surrounded by a host of family & friends, spanning decades! Grammar, Junior High, College friends, and Colleagues stand before us today. Many of you have been talking about Dee‘s tremendous passion for music, which she shared enthusiastically, with so many of us! Her deep admiration for good old music, has certainly bridged generations… from as early as taking her baby sister Lori to her very first concert (Belinda Carlyle, on the Boston Common), in the mid-to late 80’s to as recently, as taking her own precious daughter Julia, to her very first concert, this past year! (It was Mariah Carey)
We have magnificent memories from our first apt together at 233 L St.
•Dancing to the authentic oldies disco, with d.j. Barry Scott, enjoying a fine pilsner or two, in the kitchen at 233 L St.
•Celebrating weekends & Holidays, gathering with the girls, for boiled dinners, Fresh Soups & Baked Desserts!
•D making her dad’s home made, “Oh MY God” sized meatballs.(Thank You Mr. Mackie!)
•Meeting there for dinner & drinks, Pre & Post Concerts, or whatever reason we could find to come together for good time, with good friends!
•Many quality filled moments were shared together there & we remember them all so vividly & with great gratitude!
Dee also had quite an adventurous side, whether it was canoeing down the Saco River in ME, Flying out to Vegas with her girls, for the Tyson Fight (that never took place!) or heading down the Cape with 20 high school girlfriends, only to share two rooms between all of them!
Whenever you were around Dee, there were a “lot of laughs”, some “funny, funny story telling”, and always a “2 thumbs up”!
We take solace in knowing that Dee has been greeted, into the open arms of our loved ones who have passed before us; especially our dear friends “Galvin” & “Callahan”, as she transitions up to her final resting place. D will guide us from above and even walk with us, hand in hand, during our darkest moments. Her presence will carry on through her beautiful children, her strong spirit, and our treasured memories.
“You see, in the final analysis, it is between YOU and God. ---It was never between you and them anyway!” Mother Theresa
So… from here on in, when you say the name Dee Mackie... Do not let there be sorrow, for that is not the way Dee would want it to be....
Memories will never be the same as having you here, but they will help us feel closer to you.
And with God's graciousness we will all be together again... Until we meet again...
We love you, dear friend… Rest Peacefully,
In Friendship and Love,
Monica, Today, Karen, Cheryl, Francine…

Dear Mr and Mrs. Mackie, Ronny, Lori, Hugh and their beloved children... i am shocked and devastated by this news!
I have known the Mackie family for many years and all of you are classy and wonderful. As you may know i have suffered great tragedy in my life also, i have spent many private moments trying to understand why it is that God lets us suffer the pain of losing a loved one. There are so many beautiful aspects to life... but if i had but one wish it would be that none of us would ever die... i will always wonder until it is my time to go... what is the purpose of death? Saying sorry is so completely insufficient for your loss... no words could possibly matter at this time... However, please allow me to impart upon you an inspiration that carries me through. With every day that passes it brings us one day closer to being together again with the ones we have lost. That is why i would never want to live forever here on earth... i want to someday be forever with the ones i've lost. God's Speed

Mackie Family - Denise was one of the best people to know in your lifetime! We hadn't seen each other for a while and when we did - would just pick up with the funny stories from our younger days. I can't imagine what you are all going through, because just as a friend, this hurts. I hope reading all of these messages lets you know that EVERYONE also knew she was such a great person. It saddens me to think that her children will not have her in their lives as long as they should have. There had to be a reason why GOD wanted her back, and does not make sense. With time, we shall see. Love you Denise!

God Bless you all
