Dennis Miller Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 9, 2021.
Dennis Miller, 64, passed away in Denver, Colorado on April 3, 2021. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 19, 1956. Dennis spent his childhood in Wray, Colorado until 1972 when his family moved to Brush. While attending Brush High School he was a member of the 1974 State Championship basketball team, and he held multiple records in track. After high school he attended NJC earning a National Title for the decathlon. Dennis then attended Brigham Young University and was named All-American for track and field. His biggest dream never realized was to participate in the 1980 Olympics which were never held. He continued on to have a successful career in business and had a passion for fishing, golfing, watching the Broncos, and spending time with his family. He will leave a legacy of being a spectacular athlete, a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather. Dennis is survived by his wife Kelly Wilson, mother Gloria Jackson of Brush, son Greg (Melissa) Miller of Denver, daughter Megan Miller of Austin, Texas, step-children Taylor (Blake) Arroyo and Dylan Camacho, sister Pam Campbell and brother Rick (Dawn) Miller of Denver, Jami (Ben) Guzman of Brush, step-siblings Joce Thompson and Joel Jackson, and 5 grandchildren, Madison, Riley, Charlie, Blake, and Noah. He is preceded in death by fathers Don Miller and Richard Jackson. A family memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate Dennis' life.

I went to school with Dennis is Brush. Dennis was a "rare find". He was so special. Dennis was kind, thoughtful and loving and above all a gentleman. He had more integrity in his little finger than most people will acquire in a lifetime. My heart will always and forever hold a special place for Dennis. All my love to his family. Dennis your star shines bright.

Dennis was one of the most dedicated and driven athletes I’ve ever known. His many accomplishments were the result of his effort. Brush High School athletics benefited from his natural talent... but those of us lucky enough to share his high school experience, admired his sweet personality and humor.
The entire Miller Family have endured a great loss, and far too soon. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. You can all be proud of the person Dennis was. I know my life was enriched having known him and shared great times with him!

My daddy was the best man I know! Tall, dark and handsome. Big hearted, humorous and gentle! I love you daddy!

Dennis was my classmate, my teammate and my adversary, but more than anything else, he was always my dear friend. While we did not keep in touch through the years, Dennis was never far from my thoughts and
my fondest memories of my childhood always included him. My condolences to Mrs. Jackson, Pam, Rick and the entire Miller family.
