Derrick DuBose Obituary
Derrick was born July 10, 1978, in Florence County, a son of Joseph and Inez Bacote DuBose.
Derrick was employed with BCBS for 10 years. While there, he made a lot of friends who became his second family.
Derrick leaves behind laughter and joy to be remembered by his parents, Joseph and Inez DuBose; two sisters, Melissa Johnson and Gwendolyn Wilds, both of Darlington; a brother, Joseph Carlos (Angela) DuBose of Florence; six nephews, Jarrod, Jawan, RaShawn, Devin, Quentin and Xavier; his godmother, Julia Quillen, better known as Aunt Money; a special friend, Cheryl Patterson and her daughter, Nasiry Davis; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Washington and Charlotte C. Jordan Memorial Chapel and other times at the residence, 2809 N. Governor Williams Highway, Darlington.

I am so sorry for your loss! I have known Derrick since elem. school. Derrick was the person you were really grateful he was your friend. No matter how long we have been out of school if I ran in to him he always made it a point to speak. Such a wonderful soul! He was always full of happiness and just was a good person all around. He will be missed by many. My love and prayers go out to his family at this time. God Bless!

I'm so sorry to hear about Derrik. I can remember hanging out with him all the time at the ballfields growing up! I was fortunate enough to get to play some high school baseball with him as well. What a great lose! He was a great, loving guy! That's how I will remember Derrik. God Bless!

I have known Derrick since high school and when he used to attend Monday Night Bible study for the youths at my church, and working with him at BCBS. He was a real nice and sweet person who kept you laughing all the time. He will be greatly missed!
