Domenic Anthony Ciraulo

Dr. Domenic A. Ciraulo, MD, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on August 17, 2025 in Cape Cod after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 76.

Domenic dedicated his life to medicine, research, and teaching. Over the course of his distinguished career, he authored and co-authored more than 150 scientific papers and five books. His pioneering work and research in the fields of addiction and psychopharmacology continue to shape the field today, influencing both clinical practice and the lives of countless patients. Colleagues remember him not only for his brilliance and dedication, but also for his generosity as a mentor and teacher.

Outside of his professional achievements, Domenic found great joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. He loved the ocean and boats, passions that drew him to Cape Cod in retirement, where he spent his final years close to the water he cherished. He also had a deep love and appreciation for art and music, something he delighted in sharing with his granddaughter.

Domenic is survived by his brother Sylvester Ciraulo, his partner of 44 years, Ann Marie Ciraulo, his three children, and seven grandchildren, their time together was far too short. He is also remembered fondly by extended family and many dear friends.

A celebration of Domenic's life will be held in October where family, friends, and colleagues will gather to honor his extraordinary legacy.

Domenic's life was marked by love, curiosity, and service. Though he is no longer with us, his work, his laughter, and his example will continue to guide those who knew him.
