Donald Mee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 26, 2019.
On December 23rd2019 Don Mee, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 72.
Don was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, on March 10th 1947 (Donald A. Mee) to Delia & Russell Mee. As a teenager growing up in Wisconsin he discovered he had an incredible talent for auto body work! Whether that skill came from his (or his good friends') rowdy nights out, or just from the damage caused from racing late model stock cars, Don was incredibly skilled at putting a car back together!
Also during this time, Don's passion for antique cars became apparent. He built many -- from the inside out, and from top to bottom... all by himself!
Don (aka Donny) eventually ended up working for many years at Nelson Brothers Pontiac, where he met many great people that became his life-long friends. Nelson Brothers also provided him with a great opportunity to hone his skills and talent, which served him well the rest of his life.
In the early 80's Don moved his family to Florida.
Making the move also brought a new passion in his life when he bought his first Harley – a Sportster 1200. Don had lots of creative vision and high standards, and so had to put his signature on his next bike - a soft tail, eventually turning it into a chopper. These were the first of many Harleys that Don would acquire in his later years.
Don loved having the wind in his hair as he rode with Jerri or friends to his favorite watering hole. No doubt he was leading the ride - remember Don always liked to ride in front! Don was also just as happy simply riding for the pure pleasure of a Sunday afternoon ride, taking in the scenery as it passed by and enjoying the day. Being on his bike was to be in his 'Happy Place'.
Don poured his heart into his friendships, relationships and children. He was a loyal friend, a loving husband to Jerri, and a great father to Marci and Donalyn. Don was reliable and could always be counted on if you were in need.
Don was preceded in death by: his mother Delia, father Russell, ex-wife Linda Mee, and sister Carol.
He is survived by: his wife Jerri, daughters Marci and Donalyn (Huguenot), sister Marilynn, son-in-law Mark Huguenot, grandchildren Patrick, James, and Ashlyn, and great grandchildren Kiliann, Paxton, Jiraiya, and Aaliyah.

A memorial for Don Mee will be held on Friday January 10th, 11:00am-1:00pm at National Cremation & Burial Society - 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, FL 32765

It seemed like more often than not I'd run into Donnie while I was out riding. It was always great to see him and Jerri. His love for riding was obvious from riding something old school to riding something a bit newer. Not to mention his love for classic cars. A genuine and caring man and known by many. Their Annual Memorial Day get togethers were always a hit. Donnie is obviously one of the good ones good way too soon. Sending prayers for some comfort and strength to Jerri and the family. Until we ride again Donnie. You will be truly missed. See you on the flip side...

I went to school with Donnie, we had some good times. The Milwaukee car clubs were also fun. We had the same enthusiasm for custom cars and going fast. I will miss you Donnie. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Donnie was a great friend and a wonderful person to race with. We have many memories of hauling the car to Kaukauna and listening to Donnie work the CB and giving the cow report as to the weather for the day. A funny man with a big smile. Best thoughts to family and friends.
