**Obituary**

Donald Fay Pierce, 89, of Brewer Maine, and St Augustine Florida passed away on May 26, 2023. He was born on June 13, 1934, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Bernard Pierce and Dorothea H. Pierce.

A proud Air Force veteran, Don served from 1953 to 1957. Following his military service, Don pursued a career with the FAA from 1958 to 1984, excelling as an air traffic controller, supervisor, and computer engineer at various locations, including Otis AFB in Cape Cod, Millinocket Air Strip, Nantucket, and Bangor International Airport.

Don was a dedicated family man, survived by his beloved wife, Susan M. Pierce; son, Bill Pierce, and wife Norma Jean Pierce. Grandchildren; Ashley and husband Isaac Savard, Billy, and Georgia Connell. Great grandchildren; Adalynn and Milo Savard. His daughter Mylinda Weber and husband Scott of Baltimore, Ohio. Grandchildren; Natalie Setty, and husband Tristan, Joe Hayes and wife Roselie, and Emily Hayes. Great grandchildren: Odessa Setty, Izzy, JJ, Leo, Aiden, and Donnie Hayes. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald F. Pierce.

A man of many talents and interests, Don was an avid aviation enthusiast, who enjoyed flying RC airplanes, fishing, hunting, singing, playing the guitar, skiing, sailing, snowmobiling, and 5th Wheeling. Don and Sue loved to dance. They frequented Panama Hatties in St. Augustine. They were often seen dancing at venues Bill performed at in Maine. As a dad and friend, he was always there to fix cars, houses, and troubleshoot life obstacles. He was always there for so many. He was a member of the North Brewer United Methodist Church, where he found solace and community.

A ceremony to honor Don's life will be held at North Brewer Cemetery on June 24, 2024, at 3 pm.

Don will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family. His legacy of love and mentorship will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
