Donald Wing Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 3, 2024.
In remembrance of Donald Wing, we celebrate the life of a remarkable man who filled the world with warmth, laughter, and an unmatched spirit of giving. Born on June 18, 1981, in Joliet, Donald lived an extraordinary life and carried a heart full of love and humor until his passing on December 1, 2024. At only 43, he left us with a legacy that will be cherished endlessly.

Donald found the love of his life, Stephanie Quinn, and shared a beautiful 16-year journey with her. Together, they created a loving family, raising two incredible children, Cassidy Wing and Derrick Wing. They are his everlasting legacy and how proud he was of them every single day. Donald poured his heart into his family, and his pride in their accomplishments was surpassed only by his limitless love for them. Despite his own busy schedule, Donald always found time to lend a helping hand to family and friends. His kind, generous spirit was unmatched, constantly putting others before himself, whether financially tight, exhausted, or simply pressed for time.

Don had a deep passion for cars, especially his Cadillac CTSV, drag racing on the weekends, and was on the brink of becoming the owner of the family business; Lockport Vacuum -a dream he was beyond excited to bring to life. Those who knew him were well aware that behind the wheel of any vehicle, or at any gathering, was a man ready to put a smile on your face or an arm around your shoulder. His humor was only outshone by his kindness - he would give the shirt off his back, even if it meant he'd be cold himself.

His funny, smart-ass humor and caring nature were a trademark, bringing laughter and warmth that turned ordinary days into lasting memories for the rest of our lives. A big-hearted soul whose pockets might have been empty at times, but whose heart was always full and ready to share.

His spirit will continue to live on through his partner, Stephanie; his loving children, Cassidy and Derrick Wing; his loving mother, Brenda Studer; his step father Richard Studer; his siblings, Amy, Stephanie, Thomas Studer and Jessie Wing. He now rests in peace with his father, Herbert "Butch" Wing, leaving us all with countless cherished memories.

On December 6th, at 7 pm, friends and family will gather at the American Legion in Lockport, IL, to celebrate Donald's life. May we honor him by spreading laughter, kindness, and love just as he taught us to do so effortlessly.

I will miss you every single day dadd. You were the best father anyone could EVER ask for. You were the first man to EVER love me. You went above and beyond for me no matter what. I wasn´t a trouble kid but when I did get yelled at for something you always got me out of it. I remember when I was a little baby, I pooped my pants and tried to hide it from mom because she would tell you and I would get in trouble and welp she found out and told you...you weren´t made because I was still a baby but it´s a funny story to tell. I also remember a time when I was riding my bike wearing a dress and it got stuck in the tire and it had to be cut off. Another memory was when I was 5 years old I was a chunky baby and was wearing a dress that was too small for me and I was stuck in it that you had to cut it off me. It was my favorite dress to wear as a kid too. I remember my first breakup and I cried right in your arms, or when something broke on my car I would call you first. There´s so much you did for me and the family. I don´t know what we will do without you daddy. You helped us so much. I hope that you keep watching over usI mss you so freaking much daddy.

I remember spending most summers around the vacuum store. We're hanging out at the house watching movies all day. He loved competition even if it was a simple contest to see who (bot or girl) could pee farther. I remember when I got in trouble. He used to try and get me out of it. But there were also times that he got me into trouble. He was always my big brother and he always will be.

I remember I got in trouble one time and Don tried talking my dad out of it and he wouldn´t budge so he promised me candy when he came back and it was more than just a bag. I remember when we would all have bonfires and cookouts and play in the backyard I´m going to miss that very much especially because him and Steph were my parents best friends and practically like second parents to us.
