Doris J. (Westwood) McIlwain, 72, of 514 Locust St., Kittanning died Thursday, April 24, 2003 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.

She was born June 24, 1930 in Kittanning to John Frederick and Dorothy M. (Reed) Westwood. Mrs. McIlwain was a nursing instructor at the Sewickley School of Nursing. She formerly worked at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. A graduate of Duquesne University, she received her R.N. from Mercy Hospital. She was an active member of St. Lawrence Church, Cadogan. A volunteer at the Butler V.A., she was a member of the state legislative team for A.A.R.P. She lived in Kittanning for most of her life and also lived in Coraopolis. Survivors include her husband, Raymond "Dick" McIlwain; two sons, Jim Trunick of Bakersfield, Calif. and Leroy Trunick of Dayton; three daughters, Kathleen Elkins of Blawnox, Madelon Trunick of Bellevue and Mrs. Robert (Anita) Lioi of Moon Township; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. James (Laura Lee) Landis of Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, John "Jack" Westwood. McILWAIN -- Friends of Doris J. (Westwood) McIlwain, 72, of 514 Locust St., Kittanning, who died April 24, 2003, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, where a Parish Wake Service will be at 8 p.m. Sunday and a Prayer Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Church, Cadogan with the Rev. Raphael Glinkowski, O.S.P., officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis of Paolo Cemetery. Arrangements by Mantini.
