Doris Perry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2025.
Doris Ann (Crowley) Perry, age 81 formerly of Vernal, wife of the late Lee Ivan Perry, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her daughter's home in Ogden, Utah. She left behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity, and quiet strength. Born on April 10, 1944, on a farm near Ignacio, Colorado, Dori was the younger of "identical" twins, arriving 15 minutes after her brother Robert "Bob" Crowley-a bond they cherished throughout their lives.

A gifted student and lifelong learner, Dori graduated as salutatorian from Montezuma County High School in 1962 and earned a scholarship to Brigham Young University. It was there she met her sweetheart, Lee Ivan Perry, at a skating rink. They were married on August 28, 1964, in the Manti Utah Temple and built a life full of family, hard work, and adventure.

Dori had a deep love for nature-gardening with her family, growing giant pumpkins and sunflowers, and photographing wildlife on countless road trips with Lee and with her children. A dedicated seamstress and thrifty homemaker, she hand-sewed dresses, made custom birthday cakes for her children, loved yard sale treasures, and always found joy in simple pleasures like spotting wild flowers along the roadside. She worked many years for the U.S. Forest Service and valued her independence and self-reliance.

Though quiet and reserved to many, Dori had a warm, whimsical side. She was known for silly songs, spontaneous kitchen dances, and laughter-filled moments with her children and grandchildren. She had a special bond with her family, especially her grandchildren, and could often be found playing balloon ball or cheering on her grandson's emo band, Breakfast for None, which lovingly called her their biggest fan.

Dori is remembered for her gentle spirit, can-do attitude, and deep, unconditional love. She taught by example-how to work hard, live with intention, and love fully. She often said, with a tear in her eye, "I love everyone," and truly lived by that.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lee and her twin brother Bob, and her other siblings Wayne, LoRene, and Floyd. She is survived by her brother Ralph, sister Donna, four children, grandchildren, and many who were blessed to know her.

Reunited with her twin and riding their cherished childhood horse Bobby once more, Dori's journey continues-this time into a peaceful sunset.

Funeral services for Doris will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm with a visitation from 12:45- 1:45 pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Rockpoint Cemetery next to her beloved husband Lee.
